Folksy Friday: Bank Holiday Bonanza

Well it is nearly the end of August.
Monday is a bank holiday so I thought a nice laid back, anything goes approach would be apt.

To celebrate the bank holiday I am having a wee giveaway.
Pick any item of your choice from my shop....yes anything!

To enter just leave a comment, simple as that.
Closes Monday at 7pm.

Winner will be drawn at random.

This will be my last blog of the month so I am celebrating my fellow A-Teamer's who made it through the month. Between us we have amassed a massive 443 sales so far.
I think that is solid proof that listing daily is worth the effort.

Here are two of my latest listings.
Both are purple... I love purple :)

Wonderland plus 7 Wonders of the Folksy World

I am such a Wonderland nut. From the original Alice in Wonderland, and Looking glass books. Right the way through to the recent Burtonesque version. I must have watched it a dozen time. I now think about muchness, jubjub birds and Futterwacken quite regularly...

Am I stark raving bonkers? I'll let you into a little secret. All the best people are :)

So celebrate all things of wonder is what I shall do tonight.
Maybe I'll finish with a vigorous futterwacken.

Sunday Smiles

Today I thought I would do a nice wide range of items that make me smile.
Sometimes the smallest things can brighten our day, from Dragons and worms, to messages of love and sparkles. I know this is a bit random, but that is how I feel this evening.

Here are two of my own favourite pieces that have yet to find the right owner.

SHOP NAME 1

and now onto some of my favourite Folksy pieces that I find cheery

Items 1 & 2 Both Waldo the Worm items
NosuchDisco is a shy creature so I thought I would give him a little promotion. I have bought a greetings card from him and the quality was amazing. I don't have any children to buy for, but if I did I think they would love this character.

SHOP NAME 1 SHOP NAME 2

Next is the lovely Jojo Rox
Jojo donates 20% of all sales to her local Cat's Protection of which she is also an active helper.

SHOP NAME 1 SHOP NAME 2

One of my favourite card makers here at Folksy is the fabulous Accidental Vix
Her illustrations are so unique, and the quality of the cards is fabulous

SHOP NAME 1 SHOP NAME 2

My final spotlight seller of the evening is Keep your Place
I love these hand mirrors. Who can resist Audrey Hepburn's glamour, or a Happy Rainbow.
Plus it is practical too! Is it too early to say "Stocking Fillers?"

Hope you enjoy looking at my choices :)

Folksy Friday: The Secret Garden

One of my favourite books is The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Mary finds the key to the secret garden buried outside with the help of a robin. The same robin shows her where the door is hidden beneath overgrown ivy. Once inside, she discovers that although the roses seem lifeless, some of the other flowers have survived. She decides to tend the garden herself. Mary wants to keep her new found garden a secret, but she knows she needs help tending it. She gets this help from Martha's brother Dickon. He seems to have a connection with all wild animals and plants. Mary gives him money to buy gardening implements and he shows her that the roses, though neglected, are not dead.

With this in mind I decided to go with a floral theme today.

Here are two of my Floral pieces

Opulence and Fabulousness

Today I noticed a trend of things on Folksy with leanings towards decadence, pearls, rich golds and items of sheer fabulousness. Not even sure if that is a word, but it seems to fit the description in my mind.

With this in mind I thought I would pick some of my personal favourites.

Two of my own creations which I believe fit the criteria well.

The first is this rich looking pearl and rose necklace.
A Vintage style rose attached to a string of hand linked Swarovski pearls.
The pearls really glow!

Second is another Floral piece.

This time a black Rose in a Japanese style is attached to a string of glossy black beads
